Minors, guardians & waivers

How does the form know my athlete is a minor?

By their date of birth. Anyone under 18 is treated as a minor; anyone 18 or older is treated as an adult registering themself. If you don't enter a date of birth, the form treats the athlete as a minor by default, as a safety precaution.

Why does the form ask for my athlete's own email and phone?

A minor athlete's own contact info (separate from yours) helps the club identify returning athletes correctly across seasons and keep their records accurate — it's not used instead of your contact info. If your athlete genuinely doesn't have their own email or phone, check the box on the Athlete Info step that says the athlete doesn't have their own — you can still submit with just whichever one exists, or neither.

The checkbox on Athlete Info for when the athlete doesn't have their own email or mobile phone.

Why can't I use the same email or phone for both the athlete and myself?

The athlete's email and phone need to be genuinely theirs, distinct from the parent/ guardian's — this keeps the two people's records from getting merged into one by accident. If your athlete doesn't have their own, use the "doesn't have their own" checkbox on Athlete Info instead of reusing your own contact info for them.

Why can't I list myself as both the athlete and the parent/guardian?

If your athlete is a minor, the registration needs a responsible adult listed separately as the contact — an athlete under 18 can't be their own parent/guardian on the registration. If you're registering yourself as an adult athlete, this doesn't apply — you're automatically your own contact, and the Contact Info step doesn't even appear.

Who signs the waiver?

Whoever is completing the registration types their own full legal name into the signature field on the final step — the parent/guardian for a minor athlete, or the adult athlete themself. This is treated as your legal signature, so type your real name.

Why don't I see a waiver to sign?

Not every program has one. A club sets its liability waiver text separately for minor and adult registrants, and if it hasn't set the text that applies to your athlete, the final step simply has no waiver section — nothing to read, no checkbox, no signature field. This is expected: registration goes through normally, and no waiver is recorded for it. If you expected a waiver and don't see one, contact the club — they may not have finished setting it up for this program yet.

What if I made a mistake after submitting — can I fix it myself?

Not directly — there's no self-service way to edit a submitted registration. Contact your club and ask them to correct it; they can update names, dates of birth, contact info, and similar details on your behalf. A signed waiver and any payment already made aren't something either of you can edit — those stay as a record of what was actually signed and paid.
